WHO ARE YOUR FRIENDS?

Anchor Scripture: Proverbs 13:20

” He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. “

The kind of friends you keep plays a major role in shaping your life and marriage. Friendship is a channel of influence whether positive or negative. Many homes today are experiencing strain not just because of internal issues, but because of external voices that constantly speak into the marriage. The truth is, your friends can either strengthen your union or slowly weaken it.

Marriage should refine your circle of friends. It is not every friendship that is compatible with your new life. Some friendships must be reduced, some redefined, and others completely let go. There are friends to keep those who honor God, respect your spouse, and support your home. There are also friends to keep away those who promote unhealthy values, disrespect marriage, or create unnecessary tension. Wisdom demands that you discern the difference.

Furthermore, there are personal friends who should naturally transition into family friends people both you and your spouse can relate with in unity and trust. Be intentional about your company. Surround your home with people who inspire godliness, encourage commitment, and uphold the sanctity of marriage. When your circle is right, your home becomes stronger, healthier, and more aligned with God’s purpose.
