Don’t Rush into Marriage; Marry with a Purpose

Anchor Scripture: Proverbs 24:27

” Prepare your outside work, make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterward build your house. “

Marriage is too sacred to enter carelessly. It is not a solution for loneliness, pressure, or comparison; it is a covenant that should be built on God’s guidance, maturity, and purpose. Proverbs 19:2 reminds us, “It is not good for a soul to be without knowledge, And he sins who hastens with his feet.” When you rush, you may choose based on emotion instead of wisdom, but when you wait on God, you gain clarity for the journey ahead.

Before building a home, prepare your heart. Ask God to show you whether the relationship aligns with His will, your faith, your calling, and your future. 2 Corinthians 6:14 says, “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.” A purposeful marriage is one where both people are walking in the same direction, honoring Christ, and committed to growing together in love and obedience. Do not let pressure push you into a covenant you are not ready to keep.

Wait for God’s timing, and trust His wisdom. A marriage entered with purpose becomes a place of peace, strength, and fruitfulness. Ecclesiastes 3:1 says, “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.” When God leads the way, marriage becomes more than a ceremony; it becomes a testimony.
