Flee from Premarital Sex

Anchor Scripture: 1 Corinthians 6:18

” Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a person commits are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually, sins against their own body. “

Premarital sex may be glamorized in society, but Scripture is clear: it is never worth the temporary pleasure. God calls us to holiness and self-control, recognizing that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. Engaging in sexual activity outside of marriage can bring emotional, spiritual, and even physical consequences that affect both present and future relationships. Protecting your purity honors God and preserves the integrity of your future marriage.

The Bible reminds us that our bodies are sacred and should be treated with respect. “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own” (1 Corinthians 6:19). By fleeing from sexual immorality, we show obedience to God and demonstrate self-discipline. Holiness in thought, word, and deed safeguards your heart and your future spouse, allowing intimacy to be enjoyed fully within the covenant of marriage.

To honor God in your relationships, set clear boundaries, seek accountability, and cultivate a lifestyle that glorifies Him. Pursue emotional, spiritual, and mental connection rather than physical intimacy before marriage. Fleeing temptation is an act of faith that strengthens character, protects your heart, and ensures that sexual intimacy fulfills God’s intended purpose.
