Do not let offenses linger in your heart or in your relationship. Unresolved hurt has a way of growing quietly into bitterness, suspicion, and emotional distance. What begins as a small misunderstanding can, if left unattended, create walls that weaken trust and intimacy. God calls couples to deal with issues promptly so that love remains clean, healthy, and unhindered.
Scripture warns us not to give the devil a foothold ,Ephesians 4:27. Lingering offense is one of the ways that foothold is created, through silence, pride, and unforgiveness. In Colossians 3:13, believers are instructed to bear with one another and forgive as the Lord forgave them. Forgiveness does not ignore the issue; it chooses healing over hostility and restoration over resentment.
Healthy relationships thrive where forgiveness is practiced quickly and sincerely. Couples who learn to address issues with humility and love protect their bond from unnecessary spiritual and emotional damage. When hurt is released instead of stored, peace is restored, and the relationship remains strong under God’s covering.
