No matter how much we serve in God’s kingdom, our service is empty if our personal relationship with Him is neglected. God desires intimacy with His children, not just activity or ministry. It is easy to get caught up in programs, projects, and responsibilities, but a heart that prioritizes time with God through prayer, worship, and studying His Word remains vibrant and fruitful. True effectiveness in service flows from a close connection with Him.
Scripture reminds us that devotion to God is the foundation of all meaningful work. “Without Me, you can do nothing” (John 15:5). Even the most impressive ministry efforts fall short if the worker is distant from the Lord. Choosing to draw near to God daily strengthens faith, sharpens discernment, and ensures that every act of service aligns with His will. It is not the quantity of work but the quality of our relationship with God that sustains lasting impact.
In this second quarter of the year, choose to intentionally prioritize time with God above all else. Let your service be an overflow of your love for Him, not a replacement for intimacy with Him. When your relationship with God is central, your ministry, family, and personal life will flourish, and every act of service will bring glory to His name.
