Raising Godly Children

Anchor Scripture: Proverbs 22:6

” Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. “

One of God’s beautiful purposes for marriage is to nurture and raise children who know, love, honor, and glorify Him. Children are a gift and a sacred responsibility entrusted to parents, and the home is their first school of faith. As husband and wife, our words, attitudes, choices, and treatment of one another can shape how our children understand God, love, integrity, and godly character. “Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD.” Psalm 127:3 (KJV).

Raising godly children requires more than providing their physical and educational needs; it requires intentionally teaching them God’s Word and modeling a life of faith before them. Parents are called to bring their children up in the instruction and discipline of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4). When children see parents praying, forgiving, serving, honoring God, and walking in love, they learn that faith is not merely something we talk about but a way of life. May our homes become places where children encounter God’s love and are equipped to become lights in their generation. “And these words… shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.” Deuteronomy 6:6–7 (KJV).
