Marriage is a beautiful gift from God, but building a strong and lasting union requires more than love and good intentions. It requires the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit. He is closer than you think—always present to teach, comfort, correct, and strengthen you both. When you intentionally invite the Holy Spirit into your marriage, He gives you wisdom to handle disagreements, patience to understand one another, and grace to choose love even in difficult moments. “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:25.
The Holy Spirit helps couples develop the character needed for a healthy marriage. His presence produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in us (Galatians 5:22–23). Instead of allowing anger, pride, or unforgiveness to control your relationship, allow the Spirit to lead your responses and decisions. As you pray together, study God’s Word, and surrender your marriage to Him, you create room for God to work deeply in your hearts and strengthen your bond. “And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.” Colossians 3:14 (KJV).
